AboveSeven started in 2025 when we, Maria Blomberg and Marcus Libäck, left our perfectly comfortable tech jobs to do something slightly uncomfortable, find a use for AI that actually matters.

Somewhere along a rabbit hole of climate reports and half-formed ideas, we stumbled upon a report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation saying that the average garment is worn only seven times. Seven! To be sustainable, it should be worn more than 200. We sat there for a moment. Then another. Then we decided this was a problem worth losing sleep over.

There are many problems in the clothing industry. And yes, we’ll need better materials and smarter recycling. But first things first: let’s make sure the clothes already out there don’t go to waste. The real issue isn’t couture, it’s the mountain of fast fashion jumpers and “almost new” jackets that never make it online. This is shown in Swedish charity shops where only about 18 percent of donated clothes ever get sold. The rest? Being shipped off. Waiting. Wondering what they did wrong.

Today, pricing, sorting, and categorising of high volume resale is mostly guesswork. That’s where our inner data nerds woke up, because this isn’t just a fashion issue, it’s an information one. Only now is AI finally smart enough to do something genuinely useful about it: to build product listings that are actually cheap, fast, and simple enough that grandmas can use. We know this for a fact because they are our primary testing audience.

We’re still early. Still figuring things out. Still on the hunt for partners, testers, investors, and possibly a desk that doesn’t wobble.

If you want to be part of the next chapter of this story, let’s talk.
